Had a great week full of new ideas and projects to work on. The best part about this week was the fact that I took what I learned and put it into action. How often do you actually get the chance to take the info your learning and put it into action? Not only put it in action but to put it into action with confidence.
So what I'm talking about is doing competitive analysis for a company I wish to build a website for. What that means is that I must find the top ten competitors in your area of expertise and visit their website to see what they are doing right or wrong. This is the best way to get the information I need to show you where you are going to be able to have your website draw more reliable customers than your competitors. Not only do we want to have as much traffic to visit your site as we can get, but we also want it to be organically driven there.
Through the data, I obtain from the competitor's websites I am able to create a spreadsheet that allows me to properly show my potential client why they should pick me to build their website. I can also do this for any business that already has a website but doesn't feel they are getting the results from it they should be. If you've had a website for some time but haven't noticed your business getting results from it there is probably something wrong with it.
The majority of the website designers will not use the methods needed to create a proper website simply because they haven't learned them yet. I can almost guarantee that they won't either and I only say this because I know I'm not gonna tell them what there doing wrong it creates opportunities for me to get more work.
Now after I've researched your competition and found the flaws they have working against them I have the info needed to make sure your site dominates in these areas. Now I take what I've learned and built a spreadsheet to show you what I can do for your website. It's always nice to have a visual aid to show any potential customer what you're talking about so if they don't quite understand what your talking about you can show them.
Once I've done all this it's almost impossible for any business-oriented professional to not want to have me build them a website. Once you've realized where your competition is failing to drive the proper people to their website for a business. You can have faith in knowing the website I build for you will not only guarantee that does not happen but has the correct measures applied to ensure that when they get there you're the correct choice for their needs.
